THE DECISION TO USE SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT
Increasing the number of cycle paths and ensuring their safety, linking the district through numerous public spaces and footpaths, reducing the distance between tram or bus stations: these are all examples of projects carried out by Lyon Confluence in line with the metropolitan strategy to make urban life easier and protect the health of its users.
A driverless electric shuttle
La Confluence is the first quarter to receive a driverless electric shuttle, called Navly. The aim was to provide transport to the Docks to facilitate the life of employees in the companies located along Quai Rambaud. This zone was chosen for full-scale testing of an innovative mode of transport that could well transform urban travel in the long run.
In La Confluence, the aim is to reduce the use of cars and increase other forms of mobility. The creation of the first shared car park, at Marché Gare, will help limit the use of cars in the quarter, both in terms of the space taken up by parking and the amount of local traffic.
