HOUSING, OFFICES, FACILITIES... EVERYTHING’S INCLUDED!
New buildings in La Confluence have low levels of energy consumption. But what about old buildings? Old buildings are the historic soul and architectural heritage of the quarter but are not always very energy efficient. This is why Lyon Confluence has committed to an ambitious and large-scale energy renovation programme for buildings that includes social housing among others.
- To improve thermal comfort for residents, who will be warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
- To reduce the energy consumption of buildings. The Low-Energy Building renovation requirement is 96 kWh of primary energy/m²/year. The national average for old buildings in France is around 250 kWh, which is more than double. Renovating is good for the environment (reduced energy consumption and lower greenhouse gas emissions) and for the bank account!
- To preserve historical heritage and increase the value of a building.
WHAT ECO-RENOVATION WORKS ARE CARRIED OUT?
The works are adapted to the needs of each building. Depending on the case, they involve insulating the facades or adding under-floor insulation, replacing the joinery (windows), fitting more efficient ventilation, renovating heating systems or installing photovoltaic panels.
