Tramway T2 : works resume after Covid19 restrictions

As of 11 May, SYTRAL (the Lyon public transit authority) was able to resume works on the extension of tramway line T2 to Montrochet-Hôtel de Région station. The goal is to improve service to the Confluence district and offer passengers greater comfort.

Launched in 2018 as part of the “Let’s Open Perrache” project, works have resumed to extend tramway line T2 south from Cours Suchet street. The works include:

  • Diverting the water supply network on the streets Cours Charlemagne and Rue Montrochet (11 May to 26 June)
  • Creating a reversing zone south of the Regional Council building (Rue Montrochet)
  • Redesigning the Hôtel de Région-Montrochet station

The impact for people in the Confluence area:

  • Service on tram line T1: normal
  • Car traffic prohibited on Cours Charlemagne between Rue Casimir-Périer and François Mitterrand Esplanade
  • One-way car traffic on Rue Montrochet (between Cours Charlemagne and Rue Smith)
