A new home for trades and crafts

On 7 March, a ground-breaking ceremony was held at the worksite that will be home to the Rhône Chamber of Trades and Crafts (CMA) in 2018.

Built by Groupe Cardinal and designed by SOHO and Quadriplus Groupe, the building will be located at the corner of Rue Montrochet and Cours Charlemagne.

The Rhône Chamber of Trade and Crafts is coming to the heart of the Confluence district, a major business hub in the Lyon metropolitan area, close to the regional government headquarters. In line with the economic, energy and environmental requirements set out by the Chamber, the 3,000 sq. m. facility will be both visible and highly functional, to best serve the Rhône area’s 32,000 craftsmen. Equipped with the latest information technology, the new headquarters aims to promote its services and advice. Certified as a High Environmental Quality (HQE) structure, the building will be have self-powered solar panels and a reservoir to collect rainwater for sanitary purposes. The ground-floor reception area, made of noble materials such as wood, metal and stone, will give local craftsmen an opportunity to show off their talent.
